• God created us in His own image and for His own pleasure. “…all things were created by him, and for him: (Colossians 1:16).”
• He created us with eternal souls. Even when our bodies lie silent in the grave, our souls will go on living. “…and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7).”
• Soon after the creation, Adam (the first man) sinned, and God’s fellowship with mankind was severed. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5:12).”
• In the Bible, this separation from God is called spiritual death. “For the wages of sin is death… (Romans 6:23).”
• In order for us to be restored to God, the price of forgiveness must be paid. “…without shedding of blood is no (forgiveness). (Hebrew 9:22).”
• Because we are spiritually bankrupt, we cannot pay our debt. “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags… (Isaiah 64:6).”
• Willingly, God sent His only Son to die for our sins. “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: (1Corinthians 15:3-4).”
• Jesus lives to offer forgiveness and eternal life, freely to anyone who will receive it by faith. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9).”
• I have accepted His gift of life, and know that my sins are forgiven. In my heart I have the peace and joy that His salvation brings. You can have it too! “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12).”
