God?

Everywhere you go on earth, you will find the innate desire among the people there to worship a god.  There may be those who for selfish reasons deny the existence of deity, but their facade is always exposed when tragedy strikes and their god consciousness starts to show.  The Bible alludes to the logical, universal acceptance of a Sovereign Divine when it says, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. (Psalms 14:1)”

As you know, there are many perceptions of who or what god is, but in most cases, the beliefs are self-defeating, as their gods are inanimate, dead, or just figments of the imaginations of mere men in desperation.  The Psalmist explains that, by comparison, the God of the Bible is different: “Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them. (Psalm 115:2-8)”  To be sure, there is only one true and living God—the God of the Bible (God’s revelation of Himself to man).  The Apostle Paul said that the worshippers of other gods are those, “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 1:25)”

Consider the great things God has done for them that trust Him:  Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.  The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; . . . He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great. The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth. The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. (Psalms 115: 11-16)”
