What kind of church is Corinth Baptist Church?

1. CBC is a God centered church. We are committed first and foremost to bringing glory to God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We believe that we exist because of God and for God. It is our desire when we meet for worship to honor God with the type of worship that is consistent with His character and in keeping with Christ’s mandate that “they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”

2. CBC is a family oriented church. We believe that one of God’s great purposes for the church is the edification of those whom He has placed within her. We believe this edification can only truly occur from the faithful, honest preaching and teaching of God’s Holy Word. We seek week by week to faithfully proclaim the whole counsel of God and trust that God will use it to bring the members of His church “unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”

3. CBC is a visionary church. Our church, although a relatively small rural church, is one with a world-wide vision. We are unwaveringly committed to the Great Commission and are seeking to do all we can to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who need to hear it both in our community and around the world. We still believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is “the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.”

This three-way emphasis: glorifying God, edifying believers, and evangelizing the world summarizes who we are and what we are seeking to accomplish by God’s grace. This outlook on the church is not new, it is the biblical pattern of the church from its inception on the day of Pentecost. Perhaps this is the type of church you have been looking for.
